Bug Labs Platform

The 2008 Consumer Electronics Show was an event filled with buzz and excitement. There were many cool and amazing gadgets on display. Plenty of people attended and enjoyed themselves. A lot of the show’s visitors got wowed by many of the inventions there. One very exciting CES invention was the Bug Labs Platform. The device actually caused a stir around the CES show floors during this year’s CES. Many editors from any invention category around the premises got excited along with the show’s visitors and audience. So, for sure you also want to know what exactly it is about this device that hyped people up.

All around CES, the exhibits were all about awesome gadgets and amazing features. Almost all of the booths were showcasing what each of the gadgets is capable of. Of course, many of those interested are probably thinking what if they too could create such devices? And that is why the Bug Labs Platform gained so much attention. This device allows anyone to conceptualize their very own gadget! The Bug Labs Platform can be started with the Bug Base, a minicomputer from which a user can load multiple modules or download any software and start building one’s own device!

Solar Laptop Charger Bag by Voltaic Systems

This 2008’s Consumer Electronics Show was having a Green theme, meaning being eco- friendly. This was really a good thing for the Consumer Electronics Association to do because this earth really needs protecting. One gadget that deserves recognition for greatly fulfilling the CES theme was the Solar Laptop Charger Bag by Voltaic Systems. Naturally, since it is solar, it uses the power of the sun to function. It is highly convenient too because it allows laptop users to move about more. The device would not contain a person using a laptop in a place only where there is electricity. Voltaic Systems really did a good job with the Solar Laptop Charger Bag.

Well actually, Voltaic Systems did more than a good job. The company has been producing laptop charger bags with 4-watt panels until lately. The new Solar Laptop Charger Bag has a solar panel of 14 watts! The device also comes with a battery, a lithium- ion one. This will allow you to store all those surplus charges. Plus, the bag also comes with adapters, a whole set of them actually. The adapters will be very useful for charging other devices so meaning you can also charge your phones and cameras as well!

It looks very unique and might be useful when you really need power but $599 price tag?

Slacker’s Portable Media Player

This year’s Consumer Electronics Show was filled to the brim with new and amazing gadgets. Of course, there were plenty of devices geared towards music. The 2008 CES definitely succeeded in introducing a lot of gadgets that are soon to become the new hype. One of these is Slacker’s Portable Media Player. It may be true that the player cannot yet compete with other big media player names out there, but it is special in its own way and probably better! That is because Slacker is mainly a web service that provides everyone the ability to discover new music. Slacker’s Portable Media Player has taken such accessibility to the next level!

Musicians and bands that are not yet widely known can be discovered by you with Slacker’s Portable Media Player. This player is said to be the first ever portable media player that is personalized. The player will download new music based on whatever you prefer to listen to every time the device is connected to a computer or within an area with wi-fi. Its capacities include being able to hold about 4000 songs and having 40 various ‘radio stations’. The device comes in 4GB, 1.5GB, or 500MB. Currently though, this player is only available in the United States.

XEL- 1 TV by Sony

The 2008 Consumer Electronics Show was huge and as expected, there was a plethora of gadgets to ogle at. One very attention- grabbing entertainment device was XEL- 1 TV by Sony . It is true that the CES was filled with showcased television sets all competing in different levels. Some ruled the size category and others shined in the quality and output department. XEL- 1 TV by Sony soared in the overall look area! This TV is OLED so it does not only have its looks to brag about. It comes with plenty of amazing features that many of you television buffs out there can surely appreciate!

This television is one very thin device. In fact, it is merely a 3 mm thick TV. If compared to the Anglepoise iMac, this television is definitely squarer, thinner, and shinier too! When turned on, XEL- 1 TV by Sony can have an input of 1080p with its 960 x 540 actual resolution. Its contrast ration is 1,000,000: 1. Other features include 10/100 ethernet, HDMI in, and USB. This television is also very eco friendly with its 45 watts power consumption. This was achieved by Sony through doing away with the backlight panel as OLED can give off the glow by itself. Hands down, this device is one great work of art!

Dash Navigation’s Dash Express GPS

These days, a traffic jam problem can start becoming less of a problem. At the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show, plenty of cool gadgets were exhibited including plenty of GPS devices. One really very good idea was Dash Navigation’s Dash Express. Unlike GPS devices of old, this navigation system has more features to it and is definitely more useful. Driving around will soon become hassle free for all people as Dash Navigation’s Dash Express provides amazing traffic assistance. The device will not only guide drivers through traffic snarls but also help in other details such as providing traffic- related information.

The device works well especially if many people will be using it. This is because Dash Navigation’s Dash Express utilizes other Dash Express units of other drivers along with other sources. The result then would be drivers receiving data of real- time traffic. Each Dash Express unit will be working just like a sensor and sending every driver’s location and speed to Dash Headquarters. There the data will be processed and the best- to- take routes will then be suggested to drivers in order to smoothen out traffic. Moreover, drivers can use the unit to find info on certain locations and info about fuel prices.

That is not really necessary though because at the 2008 CES (Consumer Electronics Show), one cool memory device was introduced. It is the Eye- Fi Wireless SD Card. Eye- Fi is actually the name of the company making the SD cards. What is great about them is that they have built- in Wi- Fi. So even if your camera is not a wireless one, you need not go buy one that is wireless because the Eye- Fi Wireless SD Card solves all your connection problems.
