In todays economy, it pays to be on top of your finances and know where you stand on credit, debt, income and of course - your savings. Luckily with today’s technology, you’re able to do just that and more. From smartphones to tablets and now even smart TV’s, you can monitor, increase, decrease and any other number of functions to your portfolio.
Let’s take a look at three different gadgets currently available on the market, that help or facilitate financial management, whether at home or on the go. Plus each one of the fun gadgets mentioned below is easily available online or at a tech shop near you.
1. Nokia Lumia 900 -
You thought I was going to mention the iPhone 5, didn’t you? Well you won’t find the same old rehash here, nor will you find an Apple fangirl, thank you. Instead we take a look at and offer up the Nokia Lumia 900 which is a fine specimen of a smartphone with a number of smart features. First, since the Nokia Lumia 900 is a Windows device, the biggest drawback at this time is the lack of apps, however we firmly believe that this is about to change and very soon. The popularity of Windows phones is increasing and this will create interest from developers, who will then create juicy apps for us to play with. Whether you want to share important credit files via Sky Drive or you want to save gas via Gas Buddy, the Nokia Lumia 900 is a great gadget for the finance minded.
2. Kindle Fire -
I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas last year, and love it. I tend to use it at night before I go to bed and love all the cool apps and features. At less than $200, this is a smart and very capable 7 inch tablet. From apps to music to games and a robust and fast web processor, if you seek a portable computing gadget that you can throw in your purse, backpack or even a coat pocket - the Kindle Fire is for you. Here are some of the best finance apps available now for the popular Amazon tablet: Mint.com, Open Table, Coupons.com, Fox Business, Wall Street Journal and plenty of bank specific apps to manage your bank accounts on the go.
3. Samsung Smart TV -
Next to smartphones and tablets, the next best type of gadget for the finance minded would be the new generation of smart TV’s starting coming out. Retailers like Samsung have smart TV’s soon to debut that allow internet access, provide 3D capability and other fun features. Why is this good for finance? Because if the TV has web access, then anything you do on your phone or tablet, you will be able to do on your Smart TV. From using apps to simply doing some web research - smart TV’s will soon be here - and here to stay.
