The 2008 Consumer Electronics Show was an event filled with buzz and excitement. There were many cool and amazing gadgets on display. Plenty of people attended and enjoyed themselves. A lot of the show’s visitors got wowed by many of the inventions there. One very exciting CES invention was the Bug Labs Platform. The device actually caused a stir around the CES show floors during this year’s CES. Many editors from any invention category around the premises got excited along with the show’s visitors and audience. So, for sure you also want to know what exactly it is about this device that hyped people up.

All around CES, the exhibits were all about awesome gadgets and amazing features. Almost all of the booths were showcasing what each of the gadgets is capable of. Of course, many of those interested are probably thinking what if they too could create such devices? And that is why the Bug Labs Platform gained so much attention. This television is one very thin device. In fact, it is merely a 3 mm thick TV. If compared to the Anglepoise iMac, this television is definitely squarer, thinner, and shinier too! When turned on, XEL- 1 TV by Sony can have an input of 1080p with its 960 x 540 actual resolution. Its contrast ration is 1,000,000: 1. Other features include 10/100 ethernet, HDMI in, and USB. This television is also very eco friendly with its 45 watts power consumption. This was achieved by Sony through doing away with the backlight panel as OLED can give off the glow by itself. Hands down, this device is one great work of art!

Readius Rollable E-Book, Mobile Phone Photo


Polymer Vision, a Dutch maker of rollable displays, on Tuesday disclosed plans to commercially launch its Readius device -- a foldable e-reader and mobile phone -- sometime in the middle of this year.

Readius merges the functionality of e-readers with features of mobile phones, according to Polymer Vision. The device also comes with an Internet portal for searching and personalizing content. Once users have selected content and services based on their preferences, the portal "pushes" the information to them, the company said.

And they got what they wanted- cool, wacky, and excellent new inventions! In fact one of the gizmo that wowed many was the Panasonic 150- inch TV. This TV currently owns the title World’s Biggest TV. This plasma easily tops over a man with a regular height! In fact, the Panasonic 150- inch TV is so huge it can easily take up one side of your house’s walls with no effort at all.

This gigantic plasma TV has a resolution of 2k x 4k. If you are thinking about how much power this TV can use since it is so big, do not worry because it will only use 50% power of what it should be consuming. This is because the Panasonic 150- inch TV has a double luminance efficiency feature that cuts down its power consumption a great deal. This TV runs on 220 volts and it has a 2160 x 4096 pixel count. The glass used for the screen is very high quality! This TV is definitely grand!

WowWee Rovio


This 2008 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) was filled with displays of robotic inventions. Nobody is complaining though because the robots did provide plenty of things to talk about and admire. The WowWee booth was especially attention- grabbing with the many robots they introduced. One particularly amazing invention was the WowWee Rovio. This robot is all about telepresence and home exploration. Best of all, it is WiFi enabled! Many at CES fell in love with it immediately! In fact, many has commented and appreciated the looks of the WowWee Rovio, a cool sting ray with wheels! It is quiet very functional too!

What this robot is capable of is movement in all directions. Its movements are easy, not awkward at all. Basically, the WowWee Rovio is a robotic webcam that is WiFi enabled. You can control this gizmo through devices that have access to the web. So that means you can move the Rovio around with your PC, your cellphone, or your game console. You can then view any area through the Rovio. The robot even transmits audio so it becomes the perfect device for any spying activity! This robot is also a breakthrough from its kind because it features the NorthStar – a smart system for positioning and navigation!

CES 2008 – Consumer Electronics Show a yearly tradition. This year’s CES is yet again a success. Naturally, amazing and wild gadgets were exhibited during the show. Many people were intrigued by some of the gizmos while other inventions stupefied CES’ visitors. One of the many gadgets that dominated the wild side is the WowWee Tribot. The Tribot has no apparent purpose except to bedazzle any audience. After all, nobody has set the rule that gadgets be invented for world shattering purposes. The WowWee Tribot however succeeded in shattering CES audience’ perceptions regarding inventions!

In the past, WowWee freaked out many with its chimp head gadget that talks. This 2008, the tribot continues to emphasize its inventors preference for the wild and wacky side. The WowWee Tribot is a robot without legs. It has instead 3 wheels which account for its movement in any direction while still facing the front. This gadget is colored bright red which greatly increased its attention- grabbing abilities. If WowWee’s chimp head before talked, this tribot does more than that. It pops its ears out and jiggles its eyebrows while it yells and screams. This gadget definitely knows how to make a ruckus!
