ASUS EEE T91
When netbooks first came about, a lot of hype followed its release. The very first netbook I laid my hands on was an Asus EEE PC. For the price and the size, I did not expect anything much and truth be told, it did not even meet my expectations. Boot time is ridiculously slow, interface was awful, the keyboard was a pain! Other companies learned from the mistake of the EEE PC and started coming up with netbooks that are powered by dual core processors and even 90% keyboards. That made me happy. Now, ASUS is creating another first in the netbook industry. Are they setting the standards now or is it just another beta model for other companies to improve?
The ASUS EEE T91 combines the functions of a netbook and a tablet PC. At just 2.11 pounds or 0.96 kilograms, this netbook is the slimmest and lightest netbook with a screen display of 8.9". As for the storage, ASUS did not skimp on this one. A 160 GB Shock Proof hard drive is decent enough for a tiny gadget such as this but it enhanced it further by adding 20 GB of Exclusive EEE Storage, which is expandable with a card.
A certain software called the TouchSuite allows the user to perform multiple functions without the use of the keyboard or a mouse. When in tablet mode, you just need to use your fingertips and you could edit pictures, drag and drop files and even make your own handwritten notes.
In my opinion, ASUS did a good job with the EEE T91. The questions is, what additional features will its competitors come up with or is this model so good that they need not revise?
