Rumors of a new Apple product in a tablet form named iSlate are, well, just that - rumors. The web was buzzing with information about the iSlate's tech specs which are, like the name, just rumors. Apple finally announced their new product, including it in their product line up in their website. And the new product is not called iSlate, it's called iPad.

In my opinion though, iPad seems to be such a boring name. iSlate would have suited the gadget better since it gives it a whole different individuality. iPad is just like iPod, with a short "a" sound. Most of the rumored specs of the iSlate did not materialize in the iPad.

The tablet PC is equipped by a 1Ghz Apple A4 processor. We can't really say how well that processor works since this is the first time we heard of it, so we might need to wait for customer reviews on that. Memory, like the iPhone, comes in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models.

As for the size, it is roughly 10 inches in height, 7.5 inches width and about half an inch think. Imagine 10 inch netbooks, then take out the keyboard part and make it thinner.

What do we think of the iPad? Well, if you loved the iPhone, then you have a blown up iPhone right there. It also has a sim card tray, though I'm not really sure if you could make voice calls. That would be quite funny, don't you think? Making voice calls on a 10 inch tablet? Well, Apple fanatics will surely wait in line to get their own iPad which will launch the non 3G model late March, and the 3G model in April.

According to Apple, price is around $499. Like I said, a blown up iPhone.
