The Not-So-QWERTY Qwerty
I would say that the hardest thing to do in any touchscreen phone would be to type down a long message. Along the way, you would surely press a button that is not really what you intended to. So, instead of attempting to compose an SMS to your friend, you would rather give him a call. But what about e-mails? How do you work around that? Surely, you will be getting the iPad because you want connectivity on the go. This is the problem that Mobience would want to solve when they introduced smallQWERTY, their wireless mobile keyboard.
Mobience came up with the idea of the smartQWERTY because of the common complaint of touchscreen users. The smartQWERTY connects to the smartphone or tablet PC wirelessly via Bluetooth, if we are not mistaken. That means you can also control other text devices of nearby mobile phones. Hmmm.... sneaky.
The keyboard is not arranged in a QWERTY manner, nor does it have the standard ABC1 DEF2 keyboard. Instead, it is arranged in a strategic manner that has the numerical keypad similar to mobile phones while the letters are a little bit out of this world. For a clearer image of what we are talking about, check out the picture below, because it is quite hard to explain how the alphabets were arranged.
This gadget was first introduced in CES 2010 and information on when it will be available has not reached us yet. We just hope that the alphabet arrangement is really strategic, as the manufacturers say it was.
