he sun is a very great source of energy and that has been known for a long time. A lot of actions are being done to effectively harness its power such as innovating devices and materials which will utilize the energy coming from the sun instead of electricity. Cellphone charger, lighting devices, plantation electricity, all these can be operated with the solar power. In addition to those is the innovation of solar bags. Several brands and types of solar bags have been introduced already and now, new models of eco-friendly bags are launched.
These bags are created by the company Sakku based in Switzerland. Two models are created, the direct variant and the akku variant. The direct variant is a solar bag that directly charges the portable devices connected to it while under the sunlight. The akku variant works by storing all the harnessed energy from the sun in an integrated rechargeable battery then, the battery will be the one used to charge other devices.
Since many solar bags are already present in the market, Sakku thought of a way in which they could make their product stand out. Aside from its ability to gather solar power, another environmental feature of the bags is that they are made out of used sails from damaged sailing boats. To make it more attractive, each bag is stamped with the name of the sea or lake where the sailboat used to sail.
The bags are sold at € 175 to € 245. Currently, the bags are available at the United Kingdom.
