Active Fresh Blue Technology isn’t a new concept. It is already being used in refrigerators to help increase the nutritional value and shelf life of vegetables and fruits. It is done by the use of utilized photosynthesis produced by LEDs with different colors. According to the tests that were made, the lights emitted by these diodes boost the vitamins and other essential substances contained by the foods. Color is also a big factor in preservation process. As for an example, the vitamin C contents of a broccoli increased by 50% after being exposed to orange light.

Now, this concept is being studied to be applied in a fruit bowl. The effect is expected to be like in the Folio refrigerators. This way, even if you leave your fruits uneaten for a number of days, they won’t be rotten and get spoiled right away. But like I said, this is still on its experimental stage. There is no price or release date yet.

If this project becomes successful, it would really be worth buying. This BLUE bowl might not be able to preserve your fruits forever; still you can enjoy them for a longer period of time.
