With the electronic dog door, the pet is given a waterproof RFID chip attached in its collar. The chip acts as a pass code and the door electronically opens whenever it comes near and got sensed. This kind of set-up is ideal if you do not want neighborhood pets or other animals to enter in your house except for your pet. That is possible with the electronic door since other animals don’t have the chip to be able to pass through the door.
