Do you know that opening your refrigerator door consumes a lot of power? On top of that, the cold air escapes the refrigerator and warm air enters, making it work double time again to convert the warm air to cold air. Really, just by opening those doors on a regular basis with no real purpose, you are wasting a lot of energy in the process. That is the idea behind the latest concept design by young designers Yoon Jung Kim and Jong Rok Lee.. the refrigerator that turns from opaque to transparent in just a couple of seconds.

This concept of refrigerator doors that turn from opaque to transparent was brought about by the concern for wasted energy every time people rummage the fridge for something to eat and find nothing... but still comes back to rummage again. The doors of this refrigerator turn from opaque to transparent just by running a current through it. True enough, it also uses up energy but much less than opening the refrigerator doors a couple of times.

This conceptual fridge also has five compartments so you could easily sort out its contents, making it easier for you and for everyone to find what they are looking for. We are not sure of the production date of this device, however, if it in fact pushes through, we think that this appliance would actually be a big hit in most countries.

As for the price, since it has not been in production yet, we can't give any ballpark figures as well. But we are guessing that it would not come cheap.
