Have televisions gone organic?

The first OLED television has been released by Sony and the panel is only 3mm! OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) is an energy efficient technology that doesn't need to be backlit which is one of the reasons the televisions are so thick. The OLED consumes 40 percent less energy than most 20 inch LCD televisions.

Response time is super fast because each organic element in the screen are directly stimulate by the
electric current.

The color and brightness of the screen is unmatched because the OLED's pixels each emit light. The
pixel density is the same as a 40 inch LCD TV making the resolution for the 11 inch screen very sharp.

The OLED comes standard with S-Force Front and Dolby Digital sound. The sound mode switches from
Standard, Custom and Dynamic. SteadySound Automatic Volume Control cuts down on the audio spike that occurs when commercials play.

While the OLED does not come with S-Video inputs, the television does have a Memory Stick media slot
so you can watch video shot from digital camera.
