CES 2010: Portable Movie Viewing
Every single gadget out in the market now will surely have a portable version. That is because people are more on the go nowadays, spending most of their time out of their homes and traveling distances. It does not matter whether it is work or leisure, what is important is that there is something that could keep them busy during boring hours waiting for your boarding time while you are at the airport. That is why when we heard of the Philips' new PET749 DVD player with DTV, we were thrilled to the bones because finally, a company with a reputation is taking time to include DTV in its list of features. We don't need to be stuck with generic ones which do not really offer that much value for money.
Whenever I go travel, I can't leave home without either my portable DVD player or my laptop. I have a short attention span (or should I say, I am impatient) when it comes to waiting and I always need something to keep me busy. However, when I have watched all the movies I have with me, I feel like my laptop or my DVD player is just a dead weight I have to carry around. That is why the built in DTV in this unit from Philips got me thrilled. Now I could log on to different channels. I definitely have no way of missing the latest episodes of my favorite series (and I tell you, I have a heck lot!).
The battery runs for full 3 hours. Not that impressive but already an improvement from the generic ones that run on just 2 hours. However, take note that the DTV does not work when you are in a moving vehicle. You need to be in a single spot to be able to stream channels. But whatever, I'm still glad something with value actually has DTV!
