I am a freelancer. I have clients all over the world and Skype saves not just time, but a huge amount of money, too. I get to see my clients online and talk to them. I attend conferences and online meeting rooms. But most of the time, my Skype calls are not that clear due to the internet barrier. That and the fact that no webcam has officially been released that could offer HD quality images. But that was before. Now, a new technology when it comes to web conferencing and communication becomes available... the FaceVision TouchCam N1.
Because I am on Skype more than I am on my mobile phone, I appreciate the fact that FaceVision tries to remedy the common problem among Skype users. That is having blurred images of the person (or persons) they are speaking with especially when one party uses slow broadband connection (I would like to think that nobody uses dial-up anymore so I am saying broadband and not internet connection). According to FaceVision, the FV TouchCam N1 webcam has the best features among webcams, running on an embedded codec chip with dual speakers for clearer sounds and images. It guarantees that the TouchCam N1 could produce high quality 720P HD videos for crisper images.
Besides Skype, TouchCam N1 webcam also works well with other messengers such as Yahoo or MSN. However, HD video calling is available in Skype for Windows 4.2 beta and later versions only and not in all Skype versions.
One unit of the TouchCam N1 does not come cheap at $129 but if you will be using it for business like I will, then I think this would be a great buy if it lives up to its words.
